A wide-ranging group of U.S. Jewish leaders plans to release a statement Wednesday urging Jews worldwide to boycott the Summer Olympics in Beijing, citing China’s troubling record on human rights and Tibet.

The statement also notes China’s close relationships with Iran, Syria and the militant group Hamas. So far, 175 rabbis, seminary officials and other prominent Jews have signed the declaration, which comes shortly before Holocaust Remembrance Day on Friday, organizers said.

‘We are deeply troubled by China’s support for the genocidal government of Sudan; its mistreatment of the people of Tibet; its denial of basic rights to its own citizens; and its provision of missiles to Iran and Syria, and friendship for Hamas,’ the statement reads.

‘Having endured the bitter experience of abandonment by our presumed allies during the Holocaust, we feel a particular obligation to speak out against injustice and persecution today.

‘Rabbi Yitz Greenberg, past chairman of the United States Holocaust Memorial Council, said signers are not alleging that the Chinese government is the equivalent of the Nazi regime, but that China, like Germany in 1936, is trying to use the Olympics as a public relations tool to deflect attention from its record.

The declaration was organized by Greenberg and Rabbi Haskel Lookstein of New York – both Orthodox Jews – and the Washington-based David S. Wyman Institute for Holocaust Studies.

Several representatives of Judaism’s major U.S. branches and large Jewish institutions signed on. They include Rabbi Eric Yoffie, president of the Union for Reform Judaism; Neil Goldstein and Richard Gordon of the American Jewish Congress; and Rabbi Joel Meyers, executive vice president of the Rabbinical Assembly, an association of Conservative rabbis.

The statement seizes on Olympic organizers’ plans for a kosher kitchen at the Olympic Village, where athletes stay. Greenberg characterized the move as an attempt to lure Jewish tourists by presenting an image of sensitivity.

‘I would say in principle, athletes and tourists and governments should all draw the same conclusion to this,’ Greenberg said. ‘Unless the Chinese make some significant corrections, they should not participate.

‘Meyers said he hopes the declaration is interpreted as a call for Israel and Jewish athletes worldwide to boycott the games, although he doubts such a boycott will come to pass.’It would be good if that happened,’ Meyers said. ‘(But) I know Israel has political ties to China, and does business with China. It presents a somewhat awkward issue for Israel.

Maybe the rest of us should contact the Chinese and ask them not to invite the Apartheid Israeli team. What do you think?

ADL Accuses Justin Raimondo Of Looking Like Mel Gibson

With Apartheid Israel’s ethnic cleansing campaign in the Gaza Death camp in full swing and Ehud chomping at the bit to avenge Israel’s humiliating defeat on the ground by Hizbollah in the summer of 2006, it is looking like it could be another hot summer.

Few of us can forget where we were and what we were doing on July 29, 2006. This of course was the day that we learned that the day before Mel Gibson the beloved producer of one of the greatest snuff films of all time had been arrested for driving under the influence. Not only that but during the course of that arrest had suggested that Jews were war mongers and the cause of all wars. This drunken tirade of anti-Semitism had Americas most affluent, successful and politically powerful ethnic group shaking in their expensive boots for weeks. Before that day however, it had been a quiet and peaceful summer, with just a few exceptions. For example on June 9, 2006 Israel shelled a beach in Beit Lahiya killing 8 vacationing Palestinian terrorists with their children. You may still remember that little girl wailing over the bodies of her mutilated family on the beach. I remember distinctly one of those pretty anchors on the cable news expressing her annoyance at the number of times she had to endure watching the coverage of that little terrorist girl crying over the corpses of her loved ones (Picture below…hey where is the rest of Daddy?). And then there was June 13, 2006 when during an extra judicial assassination attempt Israeli aircraft fired successive barrages of missiles at a van killing nine allegedly innocent Palestinians. They missed their target. It was his lucky day. He was probably guilty though, so these accidental deaths were probably justifiable. And then there was June 20, 2006, when yet another missile was fired at a car in an extrajudicial assassination attempt on a road between Jabalya and Gaza City killing three Palestinian children and wounding 15. Oops, accidents do happen. If American Jewry was up in arms about any of these extra judicial murders it must of been on the local news because I missed it. And then there was that border skirmish in Lebanon in the months of July and August. But when Mel was arrested only 400 or so Lebanese civilians had been slaughtered. Hardly worth getting excited about. But maybe the bar where he was drinking was playing the news coverage of the bombing of the United Nations outpost in which 4 U.N. workers had just been blown to smithereens. The outpost had only been there 20 years. The U.N. had only called the Israeli military 10 times to advise them of their location. I guess some times those precision guided weapons are just not as precise as Israel would like them to be. Or maybe Israel was just sending to the U.N. and Canada, Finland, China and Austria a little message. It makes no difference who we murder. If you don’t believe that just ask the Palestinians. What ever we do, no matter what it is, the United States will blindly support us. Just ask our Poodle Senator John McCain or read about his servile father.

So was Mel’s real problem that he is an anti-Semite or just a drunken ass responding to stimuli?.
