Maybe there never was a danger of financial meltdown.
Maybe only a few institutions like AIG, which is reportedly linked to the CIA, were in trouble.
Maybe certain people are manipulating events.
V.V. Charri and his colleagues and co-authors Lawrence Christiano and Patrick Kehoe agree that with companies like Lehman Brothers, AIG and Citigroup foundering because of toxic debt instruments, there was a sense of a financial crisis brewing, but they say it wasn’t a credit freeze.
Charri says: “This was a lot like the run-up to the Iraq invasion in 2003.“You had people in government saying: `We’re smart guys, trust us.’ But they were either wrong or they were lying.”
Adds Kehoe: “Normally, when you’re going to spend a lot of money, you present the data and the economic theory to support it, yet here’s the biggest non-military government intervention in history since the Great Depression, and there was no evidence presented to support it, and no detailed economic argument made about what market failures this $700 billion was going to fix.”

One company, as part of their commercial, told us the total amount of money that had been spent on the entire super bowl broadcast. It was some huge obscene figure that it seemed, to the viewers in my lowdown neighborhood, almost imaginary. As usual, however, I missed the brand name and don’t know what the hell I’m supposed to buy. In that sense their commercial was a pathetic failure.
But I was interested in what came after The Big Number, the millions of dollars “we” as a nation spent on the Superbowl broadcast. After The Number, there’s a second of silence (they’re waiting for us to finish going “oooohh!” over the big number). Then a big booming male voice says, “And it’s been worth every penny!”
Cut to beer commercial with scantily clad white chicks.

COUPLES who have more than two children are being “irresponsible” by creating an unbearable burden on the environment, the government’s green adviser has warned.
Jonathon Porritt, who chairs the government’s Sustainable Development Commission, says curbing population growth through contraception and abortion must be at the heart of policies to fight global warming. He says political leaders and green campaigners should stop dodging the issue of environmental harm caused by an expanding population.
A report by the commission, to be published next month, will say that governments must reduce population growth through better family planning.
“I am unapologetic about asking people to connect up their own responsibility for their total environmental footprint and how they decide to procreate and how many children they think are appropriate,” Porritt said.

Does Israel Fit the Definition of Psychopath?
So who are psychopaths? Broadly speaking, they are people who use manipulation, violence and intimidation to control others and satisfy selfish needs. They can be intelligent and highly charismatic, but display a chronic inability to feel guilt, remorse or anxiety about any of their actions.
Tack on the use of violence and intimidation to control others and satisfy selfish needs and the label expands.
Use violence and intimidation to control others and satisfy selfish needs? That’s Israel to a T. The whole damned nation was founded by using violence and intimidation, like the bloody raids the Zionists used against the Palestinians before they took over that country in 1948. A well organized campaign of terror that continues to this day.
A systematic campaign of terror, intimidation and violence against the Palestinians involving the murder of entire villages, then burning down those villages and erecting Israeli towns in their place, effectively wiping “off the map” entire parts of Palestine.
Not content with the 55% of Palestine the Jewish invaders had been given of Palestine, they have been killing, stealing and terrorizing their way to an Eretz Israel which includes parts of Egypt, Saudia Arabia, Syria, Jordan, Turkey and all of Lebanon. And ALL of Palestine and they’re getting close, as they now have control over 80% of Palestine.
The betrayal of the commons
Trust, not money, makes the world go around. Money is an emblem of the exchange of trust. It doesn’t exist except as an invention.
And trust has been broken.
Yes, it’s all smoke and mirrors, and everyone who looked already knew that. That isn’t news. The news, as Alan Greenspan said pathetically in front of Congress, was that the moguls and bankers and investment gurus did not act according to their own self interest. They did not just risky things but insanely stupid risky things and thought they could hide from their karma. They betrayed the trust of one another when they made deals, invented bogus instruments or used good ones unwisely, and they betrayed the trust of all of us. Nor will they pay the penalty they should. They never do. They never do.
We trusted the wise old men of the Fed, sitting on their dais like judges, looking down on plain people, to think about their actions, follow out the implications, and heed voices of caution and alarm.
They betrayed that trust.
We trusted the SEC to ensure that a failure to open the books by a man with a charming smile and ties to many Wall Street friends, so easy with his lies and deceit, we trusted that his lack of transparency would raise red flags, we trusted the SEC to do their job and not sell us out because they were complicit, equally criminal in their acts, or just plain dumb.
They betrayed that trust.
Too much television can make children ‘mentally ill’
Excessive exposure makes a child materialistic, which in turn affects their relationship with their parents and their health.
That is one of the conclusions of a new wide-ranging survey into British childhood, produced for the Children’s Society.
It says that children are part of a new form of consumerism, with under 16 year-olds spending £3 billion of their own money each year on clothes, snacks, music, video games and magazines.
The report claims that some advertisers “explicitly exploit the mechanism of peer pressure, while painting parents as buffoons” and that in its most extreme form, advertising persuades children that “you are what you own”.
Oy, is there anyone out there with more chutzpah than our amazing Ehudini?
With two zeleiger wars, mountains of dead islamofacist kinders and shikzes, and charges of corruption going back to when he was mayor of Jerusalem, our Ehud’le always said that he is a haimish mensch and the victim of a witch hunt by his political competitors.
Nu, our prime’le minister showed the world that he is so important, he can even call the president of Americe off the podium to the phone, and give him orders about how Condi’le should vote at the UN.
He showed the goyim in Lebanon and Goyza that he can play G_d and exterminate masses of them whenever he wants to with unconventional weapons supplied by the Americans. He can even attack UN schools and warehouses, and rely on Americe to veto any UN action against Israel.
Our Ehud’le is not stupid. He understands that he is one of the Chosen people and he can do whatever he likes and never face justice at the farkockteh ICC.
He has friends in high places and he knew all would be forgiven by the voters in Yisrael if he managed to kill enough meshuggenah hamasniks before the election.
Nu shoin, his only regret about Goyza is that he will be losing his diplomatic immunity in March, and the annual family trip, all expenses paid by Yad Vashim and AKIM, will have to be delayed until it’s safe for our Ehudini to go back to Europe.
But perhaps our Bush’le will invite Ehudini and his family for a visit to the new ranch in Paraguay, a safe place for war criminals to hide from the witch hunting operatives of the Hague.
