"If you want to be a different fish, you’ve got to jump out of the school"
Don Van Vliet, aka Captain Beefheart, has now moved on from this vibrational plane.
To most folks his music was an acquired taste and best appreciated in the altered states of the day but the legend and tall tales of his life make for a story to be remembered.
His death is not important in the overall scheme of today’s world you may say. True, but the footnotes of history sometimes provide a little diversion and stoke some long lost memories… and that’s not always a bad thing.
This 1982 video was rejected by MTV. A compliment in hindsight.

Sorry kenny but the guy i believe is bad news.in the first vid he sings at one point, "i don't wanna know whats wrong or right"this is classic luciferian philosophyand he has an ego large enough to believe he has a right to infect others with this belief, whilst 'entertaining' them.his name is nonsense and is that a magic or MAGICK band? The background motif in the picture displays illuminati/masonic sun disc symbolism containing their beloved all seeing eye and blatant serpent depiction. His voice and music is discordant and designed to disturb the listner and he had absolutely nothing of value to say about anything and if other muso's rate him so highly well…so what?

Chris, the whole pseudo-religious "luciferian"/NWO/illuminati/Alex Jones BS is just that-bullshit. The purpose of said vague bullshit is obfuscation.

I guess we all have our favorite obscure musician. I always got a kick out of Mississippi John Hurt. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v-GN-BP_Qlk&feature=related

The Captain was never actually one of my favorites. The only real exposure was a college roommate who had his albums and would put them on in late night listening sessions, thus my reference to 'long lost memories.' Discordant yes. I just viewed him as experimental in a very experimental time. If there were 'luciferian' undertones it went unnoticed and even subconsciously, I would say had no effect (grin). As far as having 'nothing of value to say about anything,' doesn't that apply to almost all popular music lyrics, especially today?Yeah Mick, MS John Hurt is classic.

you are right kenny, none of them are worth the time of day and we only consider them important because we have been culturally brainwashed into seeing them as special, and we're like ooooh look how fast he's playing the guitar or ooooh they describing how i feel, but its all bollocks.any psychopath can learn minor chords and make someone else cry, that is the truth.the illuminati jews and brothers control ALL media and they are not interested in highligting good, kind souls in anything like the way they do some plank with a shiny musical instrument.DO NOT FOLLOW THE PIED PIPERS!!!!a jones is one himself and and has made lots of money by NOT talking about the jews/zionistsdoesn't mean the brotherhood aint real

Muse is pretty good lyrically but their music isn't my thing. The music of punk bands in the CRASS tradition is still alive though… but like anything good you have to dig it out of the underground.

I liked Beafheart's stuff… a very aquired taste indeed.R.I.P.

The lead singer from Muse is a true coward. First he said he was a 9/11 skeptic, then a media backlash came, he presumably was told to backtrack and backtrack he did.

Boxcar Willie is one of my faves. Beefheart was a good bud of Frank Zappa. Two cents=two pennies.
