I've noticed my blog's web address was suddenly showing up with a .au at the end – yours is too (both the regular address and the .au address work) I'm trying to find out why but can't get anywhere.

I have no idea what that means but I added the .au to several other blogger addresses and they all worked. I also added other URL Country Codes to the end and none that I tried worked. ??

Hey Kenny,…Why would country codes even be viable? All Blogger sites are published through the server in California, or were, mmmm? The bigger enigma is why would a Blog writtn from a U.S. computer feeding into the net from a U.S. server have .au behind it? .au means it is an Australian site! It's about to go down, whatever the yids have planned, is about to go down!veritas

Hi KennyWonder no more. Thanks Google for not removing your blog for the entire planet but only those countries who object to it. See this article for better 'splaining:Google changes enable 'per country' blog takedowns. Blogger sites can now be blocked on a "per country" basis after a change to its web address system. Google will now be able to block access inindividual countries following a legal removal request. Google's explanation is here

Hey Kenny,…It doesn't get any scarier than what just happened in Australia, check this out:Millions offline as Telstra's net crashes February 23, 2012 – 3:34PMRead laterAAPTelstra's internet service has crashed Australia-wide, knocking an estimated three million users offline for about an hour. The carrier lost connectivity at 1.50pm (AEDT) on Thursday, and while many customers were reconnected by 3pm, Telstra is still trying to figure out what went wrong.Telstra spokeswoman Karina Keisler said the crash affected customers in every state."The cause of the outage is unclear at this stage, and while it's since been restored, we're working quickly to try to identify the cause," she said.Microblogging site Twitter was inundated with posts from users venting their confusion and frustration.Telstra posted the following message on its Twitter page about 2.30pm: "As you have noticed some of you may be experiencing intermittent internet access. This is being investigated as a priority."http://news.smh.com.au/breaking-news-national/millions-offline-as-telstras-net-crashes-20120223-1tpws.htmlPfft, something's going down people, coooeee!Got fishing poles and canned goods?veritas

Hey andie, w and veritas,Thanks for the info clearing up this little mystery. Selective censorship. We shouldn't be surprised. If anyone comes across an example of a specific country blocking one of our blogs, please let us know.

In China, I know for a fact that blogger is blocked. And Rense weirdly enough. For me it was no biggie, I just used a proxy server. That allowed me to post but not to comment for some reason. This of course was before I realised that all proxy servers were located in Reston, Virginia and that Reston isn't a town so much as the suburb next door to Langley. Sure enough: proxy = spooks.

And it occurs to me now that Reston was easily the most common single location I used to get hits from and now… you never see it anymore.A thought! Perhaps the CIA quit being scumbags and packed it in to go and do something useful and make the world a better place?Or not. Probably not actually.
