Aspartame and Sharon’s Brain

Posted on Updated on

Will Work for Coke

“I definitely think about a million people when I’m getting dressed in the morning and that’s just part of my life now,” Taylor Swift says. “I think it’s my responsibility to know it and to be conscious of it. It would be really easy to say I do what I want. You raise your kids! But it’s not the truth of it. The truth of it is-  every singer out there with songs on the radio is raising the next generation.”

Raising the next generation on poison aspartame. Taylor signs a big endorsement deal with Diet Coke and Donald Rumsfeld chuckles.

It used to be that the radio ‘stars’ hinted about illegal drugs. Now they are paid to push the legal ones. I liked the old days better. Taylor needs to educate herself and stop the poison pushing but hey, it’s all about the money. Country music can promote the war machine and corporate criminals but don’t tell even a wee bit of truth about anything that matters, you’ll get boycotted.

In other earth shattering news…Ariel Sharon’s brain is said to be showing significant activity after vegetating for the last seven years. Doctors are amazed because brain activity is rare in any Israeli politician, awake or in a coma. When asked about Sharon’s condition, Netanyahu foamed at the mouth and threw a copy of the Sunday Times at the reporter.

Sharon was Prime Minister of Israel during the September 11, 2001 joint Israeli/neocon attack on America. In an attempt to provoke more stimulation in Sharon’s brain, doctors are playing him a looped recording 24/7 of his alleged famous quote…

“We, the Jewish People, Control America, and The Americans Know it!”

Rumors are swirling that Coca Cola is in talks with the Pentagon to sponsor the new drone base in Africa. A Coke spokesman said “It’s a natural fit. We both are in the business of killing for profit.”

The Greatest Speech by a Western Statesman This Century?

Posted on Updated on

32 year old Belgiam MP Laurent Louis’s speech/video in the Belgian Parliament has been widely passed around but has not been seen by the tens of millions that need to hear these truths.

This courageous man makes the stooges and weasels in our Congress look to be exactly what they are…traitors.

Below is the translated transcript.

“Thank you, Mr President. Dear Ministers, dear Colleagues.

Belgium is indeed the land of surrealism.

This morning we learned from the media that the Belgian army is incapable of fighting some extremist soldiers having radical Islamist beliefs existing within its own ranks but who cannot be dismissed for lack of legal means.

However, at the same time, we decide to help France in its war against “Terror” by providing logistical support for its operation in Mali. What wouldn’t we do in order to fight against terrorism outside our borders? I just hope we took care not to send for this anti-terrorist operation, in Mali, these much talked about Belgian Islamists soldiers!

I seem to be joking, but what is going on in the world today does not make me laugh at all. It doesn’t make me laugh, because without any doubt, the leaders of our Western countries are taking the people for imbeciles with the help and support of the Media which are nothing more today than an organ of propaganda of the ruling powers.

Around the world, military actions and regime’s destabilization are becoming more and more frequent. Preventive war has become the rule.

And today, in the name of democracy and the fight against terrorism, our states grant themselves the right to violate the sovereignty of independent countries and to overthrow legitimate leaders.

There has been Iraq and Afghanistan, the wars of the American lie. Later, came Tunisia, Egypt, Libya, where thanks to your decisions, our country has been “first in line” to participate in crimes against humanity, in each case overthrowing progressive and moderate regimes and to replace them with Islamist regimes, and – isn’t it weird ? – Their first act was to impose Sharia law.

This is exactly what is currently happening in Syria where Belgium is shamefully funding the arming of the Islamist rebels who are trying to overthrow Bashar Al Assad. Thus, in the midst of economic crisis, as more and more Belgians can no longer house themselves, feed, heat and cure themselves – Yeah, I can hear what a filthy populist I am – well, the Minister of Foreign Affairs decided to offer the Syrian rebels nine million Euros!

Of course, they’ll try to make us believe that this money will be used for humanitarian purposes … one more lie! And as you can see, for months, our country is only participating to put in place, Islamic regimes in North Africa and the Middle East. So, when they come and pretend to go to war in order to fight against terrorism in Mali, well… I feel like laughing. It’s false!

Under the appearance of good actions, we only intervene to defend financial interests in a complete neo-colonialist agenda. It makes no sense to go to help France in Mali in the name of the fight against Islamic terrorism when – at the same time – we support the overthrow of Syrian president Bashar al-Assad by Islamist rebels who want to impose Sharia Law, as was done in Tunisia and in Libya.

It is about time to stop lying to us and treating people like imbeciles.

The time has come to tell the truth. Arming the Islamist Rebels, as Westerners have, in the past armed Bin Laden, that friend of the Americans before they turned against him, well, the western countries are taking the opportunity to place military bases in the newly conquered countries while favoring domestic companies.

Everything is therefore strategic. In Iraq, our American allies have put their hands on the country’s oil wealth. In Afghanistan, it was its opium and drugs always useful when it comes to make lots of money pretty quickly. In Libya, in Tunisia, in Egypt, or then again in Syria, the aim was – and is still today, to overthrow moderate powers, to replace them with Islamist powers who very quickly will become troublesome and who we will shamelessly attack pretending once again, to fight terrorism or protect Israel.

Thus, the next targets are already known. Within a few months, I bet that our eyes will turn to Algeria and eventually to Iran.

To go to war, to free people from an outside aggressor, is noble. But to go to war to defend the interests of the USA; To go to war to defend the interests of big companies such as AREVA; go to war to put our hands on gold mines, is not at all noble and reveals our counties to be attackers and thugs!

No one dares to speak, but I will not shut up! And if my battle makes me look like an enemy of this system that flaunts the Human Rights in the name of financial, geo-strategic and neo-colonialist interests, so be it!

Flaunting and exposing this regime is a duty and makes me proud. And honestly, I apology for my low class speech, but I say fuck you all, the so-called do-gooders, both left and right-wingers or from the center who are today licking the boots of our corrupted powers and who will be pleased to ridicule me.

I say fuck you all, leaders who are playing with your bombs as kids do in a playground! I say fuck you, you who pretend to be democrats while you are nothing more than low class criminals.

I don’t have much respect neither for the journalists who have the audacity to label the opponents as mentally retarded while basically, they know very well that these opponents are right.

Finally, I despise, at the highest point, those who believe they are the kings of the world and who are dictating their laws, because I AM on the side of truth, the side of justice, the side of the innocent victims of looting at all cost. And it is for this reason that I have decided to clearly oppose this resolution that is sending our country to support France in its neo-colonialist operation.

Since the beginning of the French operation, the lie was established. We are told that France is only answering the call for help of a Malian president. We almost forget that this president has no legitimacy and that he was put in place to ensure the transition following the coup of March 2012. Who supported this coup d’état? Who started it? For whom is this president of transition actually working? This is the first lie!

The French president, François Hollande dares to pretend to wage this war to fight against the jihadists who threaten (ohhhh do you realize!) who threaten the French and European territory! But what an ugly lie! By taking this official argument, while taking the opportunity to frighten the population increasing the terror alert level, implementing the Vigipirate plan our leaders and media are demonstrating an unimaginable outrage!

How dare they use such a point while France and Belgium have not hesitated to arm and support Jihadists in Libya and that these same countries continue to support these jihadists in Syria.

This pretext is a coverup to strategic and economic purposes. Our countries are no longer in fear of appearing inconsistent because everything is done to hide it. But the inconsistency is apparent. It is not tomorrow that you’ll see a Malian citizen commit an act of terrorism in Europe. No! Not unless we suddenly create one so we can justify this military operation.

Haven’t we created September 11 after all, to justify the invasions, arbitrary arrest, torture and massacre of innocent populations? Thus, to create a Malian terrorist is no big deal!

It must not be very complicated for our bloodthirsty leaders.

Another pretext used these recent months to justify military operations, as the protection of human rights. Ah! This pretext is still used today to justify the war in Mali. But yes! We have to act, otherwise the evil Islamists will impose Sharia law in Mali, stoning women and cutting the thugs’ hands off.

Oh! The intention is truly noble. Noble and salutary for sure. But then why is it – Good Lord – why is it that our countries have contributed in Tunisia and Libya to the accession to power of Islamists who have decided to apply this Sharia Law in these countries which were, not so long ago, still regarded as modern and progressive? I invite you to ask the young Tunisians who have launched the revolution in Tunisia, if they are happy with their current situation? This is all hypocrisy.

The purpose of this war in Mali is very clear. And since no one talks about it, I WILL. The purpose is to fight against China and allow our American ally to maintain its presence in Africa and the Middle East. This is what guides these neo-colonialists operations.

And you will see, when the military operation will be over, France will, of course, keep its military bases in Mali. These bases will be a benefit to the Americans as well. And at the same time, as has always been the case, western corporations will put their hands on juicy contracts that will once again deprive re-colonized countries of their wealth and raw materials.

So let’s be clear, the primary beneficiaries of this military operation, will be the owners and shareholders of the French giant AREVA who has been trying for years to obtain a uranium mine in Falea, a town of 17,000 inhabitants located at 350 km from Bamako.

And I don’t know why, but my little finger is telling me that it won’t take long before AREVA will eventually exploit that mine!

I don’t know, it’s an impression I have. It is therefore out of question that I would take part to this mining colonialism, this modern times colonialism.

And for those who doubt about my arguments, I sincerely invite them to learn about the wealth of Mali.

Mali is a major producer of gold, but recently it has been recently designated as being a country that offers a world-class environment for the exploitation of uranium. How strange!

One step closer to a war against Iran, it is obvious.

For all these reasons and in order to not fall into the traps of lies they are tending us, I’ve decided not to give my support to that intervention in Mali.

Therefore, I will vote against it. And by doing so, I’m being consistent since, I never supported in the past our criminal interventions in Libya or in Syria, and so being the only MP in this country to defend the non-interference and the fight against obscure interests. I really think it is about time to put an end to our participation to the UN or NATO and get out of the EU if Europe, instead of providing peace, providing peace becomes a weapon of attack and destabilization of sovereign countries submissive to financial rather than human interests

Finally, I can only urge our government to remind the President Hollande the obligations resulting from the Geneva Conventions regarding the respect of prisoners of war.

Indeed, I was shocked to hear on television from the mouth of the French President that his intention was to “destroy” – I say “destroy” – Islamist terrorists.

So, I do not want the qualification to be used to name the opponents to the Malian regime – it is always convenient today to talk about Islamic terrorists- to be used to circumvent the obligations of any democratic state in terms of respecting the rights of prisoners of war.

We expect such a respect from the Fatherland of Human Rights. In conclusion, Let me emphasize how lightly we decide to go to war.

First, the government acts without any consent from the Parliament. It appears that it has the right to. It sends equipment, men to Mali. The Parliament subsequently reacts and when it responds, as today, well, this institution happens to be composed of only 1/3 of its members. Much less if we speak of the French speaking MP’s.

It is therefore a guilty lightness which does not really surprises me, coming from a Parliament of puppies, submitted to the dictates of political parties. Thank you.”

Belgian Parliament Member Blames 9/11 False Flag for Criminal Invasions of Sovereign Countries.

Please tell everyone you know that there are a few in this world not afraid to take a stand against the world wide criminal syndicate.

"When I look at animals held captive by circuses, I think of slavery. Animals in circuses represent the domination and oppression we have fought against for so long. They wear the same chains and shackles."

Posted on Updated on

Is there actually much difference between circus elephants being paraded through the streets, kept in line by bullhooks and exploited by their handlers and how the masses of the world’s population are treated by the so called elite?

There are always meetings where the richest of the rich talk about how to implement their control and see just how much of the fiat currency they manipulate can be taken back from us all in the guise of saving us. The latest is the World Economic Forum at Davos. The theme is “Resilient Dynamism” which may be how the push for global government is increasingly being resisted, and what the WEF should do about it:

Unless we take action on climate change, future generations will be roasted, toasted, fried and grilled.” Christine Lagarde, Managing Director, International Monetary Fund (IMF)

Huh…Derek Jeter goes to Davos and following a private lunch thrown by Pepsi says about ‘climate change,’ “Regardless of how you feel about it, it’s something that needs to be addressed because we’re seeing more and more natural disasters each year . . . Something has to be causing it.”

That was brilliant Derek. Who would have thought a baseball player would understand cause and effect beyond hit the ball and it goes? Taxing CO2 must be the answer. How was that jet flight half way around the world Derek? Bought some carbon credits from Al Gore lately?

JPMorgan’s Jamie Dimon is also there to tell us that regulations on banker’s criminal activities are not the answer and banking is not something the peons can understand and so what if some investors lost $6 billion in JP’s scams, his bank still made a profit.

“Businesses can be opaque. They are complex. You don’t know how aircraft engines work either.”

I wonder why Bono skipped this Davos fest?  Charlize Theron is there though to get an award for her AIDS work. I don’t think she has ever entertained the idea that AIDS is a man-made bio-engineered depopulation technique. She should ask the Davos crowd what else they are working on.

The undead Henry Kissinger makes a Davos appearance and as usual he’s all about more war.

He said nuclear proliferation in the region triggered by an armed Iran would increase the chances of an atomic war – “a turning point in human history”.

I think he wants to see World War III before he leaves this world and knows that if it doesn’t happen soon he will miss it.

In other news from the ‘top dogs,’ Bill Gates channels Lloyd Blankfein.

In a recent interview with the London Telegraph, Bill Gates has now claimed that his Foundation’s massive push for vaccination is not just an exercise in philanthropy but that it is, in fact, “God’s work.”

After all, it was Bill Gates himself who stated as much publicly when he said, “The world today has 6.8 billion people… that’s headed up to about 9 billion. Now if we do a really great job on new vaccines, health care, reproductive health services, we could lower that by perhaps 10 or 15 percent.”

Yes, of course, God works in strange genocidal ways.

Obama needs a new chief of staff and picks Denis McDonough. Surprisingly he doesn’t appear to be of the tribe as the last two chief of staffs were. He was the Deputy National Security Advisor and had a front row seat in the famous White House photo op during the Bin Laden killing psyops. ‘Nuff said.

McDonough, seated, third from right in blue shirt, in the Situation Room during the ‘Bin Laden’ raid.

States Rights: Guns and Marijuana

Posted on Updated on

source

There’s so much talk about guns and who controls them. States are proposing laws to keep the feds out of the business of  gun confiscation and threatening to arrest them if they try. Sheriffs are saying they will not assist any federal effort to neuter the 2nd Amendment. States rights and how they are applied have long been a contentious issue in this country and in several ways remain so.

The gay rights movement has had some success in using the concept of states rights for their right to marry objective. There is no threat that I know of  for the feds coming into states to arrest gay married couples legal under their state’s laws.

The same cannot be said for states that have legalized medial marijuana. The feds continue to shut down state legal grow operations and dispensaries, arresting some and threatening others with prison time as seen in the video below.

There have been a few perceived victories by marijuana advocates such as LA repeals its ban on pot stores but that does nothing about fed raids and possibly could incite them to do more.

There are 18 states where medical marijuana is legal and 2 where recreational use is somewhat legal.. Can we afford to have the federal government interfere in all of these? It’s time to legalize it in every state and tell the feds to butt out.

Putting the feds in their constitutional place is the goal of legitimate gun rights activists as it is with marijuana and hemp proponents and those wanting to dismantle the ‘war on drugs.’ It seems to me they all should be natural allies to preserve individual and states rights. In states like Tennessee this is not the case. The legislature is all about gun rights and standing up to the feds on this issue but want to keep marijuana users as criminals. Can you have it both ways? You can but it smacks of hypocrisy.

Maybe I’m off base in relating guns and marijuana but the way I see it…rights is rights. The pursuit of happiness and health ranks right up there with the 2nd Amendment. They actually go hand in hand.

When Murderers and Liars Pray

Posted on Updated on

Not to disparage the power of prayer but have you ever wondered what exactly is going through the minds of those who are obligated by tradition to attend a prayer service that is a photo op for deception?

As they leave the service and go back to their work of destroying the nation, murdering men, women and children all over the world and basically lying with every breath, is there even a tinge of guilt in their bones for what they are about to do for the next four years?

I doubt it. Spirituality and the politics of domination are in conflict. These people chose the dark side and there is no turning back. They can pretend all they want, they can fool a large percentage of folks but at the end of the day they have no communication or connection with positive aspects of the universe. None that I can see. When an Obama, a Bush, a Clinton seemingly prays, it is in the black hole of hypocrisy.

The Children of Israel react to Netanyahu’s continued reign

I’m sure there are some who think that their prayers to the hebrew god have been answered.

Netanyahu gets to continue his land theft, genocide and influence in the US crime scene.

Obama and Netanyahu are dangerous.  Their prayers use the technique of creative visualization and with backing from those above and around them can often make the visualizations happen.

It’s easy to point out negativities that confront us. It’s also necessary to do so. It’s easy to become angry and sometimes that is a positive motivator.

It’s also necessary for us to use our own positive creative visualization prayers or whatever you want to call them. If millions of us visualize the downfall of crime and corruption while at the same time sending out the energies of love and justice, could that make a difference? Strength in numbers and thought which becomes positive action?

This is not a soft approach. This is hard core – us vs. them. By remaining positive and visualizing the outcome we want, we will know what to do when the time comes. No matter what that may be.

Is Being a Dupe a Mental Disorder?

Posted on Updated on

In order to save the children the entire country must be evaluated for mental disorders says the latest proclamations from our fearless leader.

Got the flu? Your doctor must ask if you own guns. A high fever might send you over the edge and threaten the lives of everyone around you. Before the Tamiflu can be prescribed you must fill out a questionnaire developed by the best of our psychiatrists. Answer any of the questions incorrectly and there are plenty of anti-psychotic medications available to help. Of course the local police must pay a visit to your home and take away anything that may assist you in carrying out the latent violent tendencies you possess.

The most relevant questions regarding one’s mental stability will not be asked.

Do you believe everything the government and mainstream media tell you?

Do you trust your government to always work in your best interests?

Are you dismissive of the ideas of false flag attacks, black op mass shootings and mind control or propaganda techniques to control you?

Do you support the wars of our empire, surveillance of your every move, detention without charges and even assassination of American citizens perceived by government to be terrorists or threats to the status quo?

Is security, even if based on dubious intentions, more important  than rights?

Would you turn in your neighbor who expresses anti-establishment thoughts for thirty pieces of silver?

If you answered yes to any or all of the above questions you may be a dupe. It is not illegal to be a dupe but is it a modern mental illness?  Current medical authorities may say no but others may disagree.

In our upside down world answering no to these questions puts you at risk. Group-think must be the norm.

We should not be too judgmental. All of us are duped at one time or the other. Calling people names never works. Encouraging others to read between the lines and come to their own conclusions may be about all we can do.

Good Golly Miss Mali…

Germany wants 300 tons of its gold stored at the New York Federal Reserve back but the Fed says it will take 7 years to procure the amount. Huh? Why use the term procure instead of just ship? To be on the safe side, 150 flights of 2 tons each and in a few months all is well. Easy if the gold is there.

Germany wants all of its gold back from France but will take its time.

They {Germany} have asked the French to return ALL of their gold stored in France, at a rate of 50 tonnes per year until all 374 metric tonnes are received.

The French have just commenced military operations in Mali. Mali is Africa’s third largest gold producer. Mali, this past year, increased its gold production by just over 50 metric tonnes.

If you have any doubts about this Mali excursion just say the magic words ‘al qaeda’ three times and it will clear your mind.

Polls say…

By a 51%-45% margin, Americans questioned in a new Pew Research Center poll said it was more important to control gun ownership than to protect gun rights.

Americans were angrier about last month’s horrific school shooting in Connecticut than they were about the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, according to a new Associated Press-GfK poll.

Time to trade in that gun for a gift card while you can. Think all those firearms turned in will be destroyed?  Think again. A local police department at least is telling us the truth.

The guns, after being collected, will either be destroyed, used for law enforcement purposes or be traded to a firearms dealer for the purchase of police firearms equipment,

Burn wood for heat? You may soon be a criminal and the DHS environmental justice unit could consider you an eco-terrorist. Real Americans support the electric and gas utilities no matter what the cost. Wood smoke is dangerous for your health, unlike leaking or destroyed nuclear reactors which apparently are OK.

The Sandy Hook Shooting – Fully Exposed

Poor Lance Armstrong. He grovels on Okra, sorry I mean Oprah. What’s his crime besides being a doper? Heck, half or more of the country is on dope. If it wasn’t for big pharma drugs we wouldn’t even be watching this show. There would not be any advertisers.

If millions did not use illegal drugs there wouldn’t be a ‘war on drugs’ and unemployment would skyrocket and the jails would not be full.

If Lance had not been stoked up, a Frenchman may have won all of those Tour de France’s and no one here would have cared. His ‘charity’ would not exist and at least 100 people there would not be working so hard to ‘cure’ cancer.

At least Lance’s head didn’t grow into a pumpkin like Barry Bond’s did.

A little personal story regarding Lance…..

He was sponsored by and rode Trek Bicycles. The company I was working for at the time was approached by Trek with an idea for a self-locking spoke nut for ease of adjustment to keep the proper wheel tension. I was in on the design and was responsible for the quality of what we shipped. Our parts were on all of Lance’s bikes and everyone felt a little connection to his wins. Getting to know the good folks at Trek, I and couple of others even bought one of their bikes after getting the inside scoop of what was the best one for the money.

I never regarded Lance as a hero but was proud to be a small part of the process of the bike racing business.

Too bad he was an egotistical doper. Winning at all costs is the American way so what is there to be surprised at? Even his girlfriend  Sheryl Crow allegedly ratted him out.

No big loss. It’s just another diversion away from more important things. If we don’t watch the interview/confession…will Oprah and Lance just go away? One can only hope.

Uncle Paul

Posted on Updated on

My Uncle Paul died today. He was 78 and it was not unexpected. In fact it was always surprising that he lived this long.

Born in 1934 in the midst of the depression on the 25 acres that my grandfather farmed, things were never easy but I never heard any of them complain about it. It was all they knew. With his mother, an older brother and sister to take care of him, my grandfather would spend extended time away on WPA projects. The farm wasn’t all that profitable and it was the only job available.

Paul didn’t graduate from high school, he kicked around in odd jobs for a few years and joined the army in 1954. Honorably discharged in 1958 he came home, married his sweetheart ‘Dimple’ and started having kids. Steady jobs were not his strong point and for reasons unknown he then joined the Air Force which went well. He and Dimple always wanted a girl but after 5 boys they gave up.

Before he went to the Air Force, he gave my mother for safekeeping his prized possessions, a box of 78 records and a couple of boxes of books. I was always thankful for those. The records were mostly Hank Williams and some ‘uptown’ songs that the only one I remember was “Strolling on 5th Avenue.” I played all of them countless times. It was the books that had the biggest effect. Most of them were what I now call pulp science fiction paperbacks, sort of clones of 1984 and Brave New World written by hacks but I loved them all, immersing myself in a genre that I probably would never have known otherwise.

Back home after his second stint in the service he continued his ways of going from job to job and moving often but always in the immediate area of home. We visited often and with 5 boys to play with, it was never a dull time.

Things took a downturn when he was working construction and the scaffold he was on 15 feet above concrete collapsed. He landed on his feet but virtually every bone in his feet and ankles were broken. Surgery and recovery that went slow and it was almost a year before he was able to go back to work. Poor times but with help the family didn’t starve or go homeless.

It was then back to work and he built himself a small house on my grandparents land but the worst was yet to come.

A construction job took Paul to Alabama staying at a motel with the rest of the crew where he made a decision that changed his life forever. He and another guy went to a bar and poolroom where he stepped in to stop a fight and got a pool cue upside his head and crashed the other side into a block wall. Skull fractures and what we found out soon was brain damage and it was irreversible.

Paul could somewhat function but was very difficult to get along with. Dimple left him and we never blamed her. It was what she had to do. The boys stayed with my grandmother, my grandfather had already died, and she did the best she could with them. Only the oldest graduated from high school and the others fended for themselves the best they could until they got old enough to leave.and never had much to do with their father after that. They loved their granny though and always stayed in touch up until she died.

Paul was all alone in his little house. He couldn’t work, no one would hire him and eventually with help from my mother and a lawyer he got a small disability check which paid the utility bills. He did maintain a drivers license and managed to keep some kind of junk car going. He sometimes would go into town and wander the streets, getting picked up by the police on occasion because they would think he was drunk due to his condition and somewhat slurred speech even when he was not. They all got to know him which may have saved his life later but I’ll get to that.

My dad had a 61 Chevy he had just repainted and reupholstered and some kids at his work tried to hot wire it and steal it. Instead they set it on fire. It was ruined but did run but only in reverse. My dad said Paul could have it if he could get it home so he drove it 18 miles in reverse to get it there. It was a sight to see. Not long after that Paul was driving his old car to town and crashed into our brick mailbox totaling the car. What were the odds of that happening? Only with Paul.

Yes, Paul was off but he had his creative ways. People would give him things when he asked and he started collecting car and home radios of all kinds. He probably had 15 of them all around his living room and every one of them hooked into a switch board so he could have them all on different stations and use the switches to turn to whatever one he wanted. Sometimes several at the same time. It was pretty cool.

He had a set of World Book encyclopedias and studied them. One time he became obsessed with the windmills he read about. He built one out of wood about 15 feet tall with some large blades that would spin good in the wind. Visiting him one day I mentioned how if he somehow connected the blades with some kind of belt to a car alternator he could charge his batteries with them. By golly he figured it out and did just that. I was impressed.

That windmill eventually rotted and fell but he was determined to build one bigger and better. Someone gave him a bunch of old re-bar and access to a welder and he proceeded to build one about thirty feet tall. I just happened to be at his house the day he dug the holes for the feet and we used a borrowed tractor to set it in place. It lasted for several years until a big storm blew it over.

Paul was no stranger to whiskey and did not eat much and kept getting, for lack of better words, crazier and crazier. He was finally talked into going to the VA psychiatric hospital where he had a few stays. With three meals a day and vitamin shots he got much better. The hospital was not far from where I lived and I visited him regularly. At that time there were a number of Vietnam vet patients in his ward and despite the problems Paul had, he was better off than several of them.

Paul’s house started falling apart and he moved in with my grandmother. That helped but he didn’t kick the whiskey and she couldn’t stop him. When drinking he got things on his mind. The neighbor’s drive bordered their property and they were continually turning in to it about 2 feet on on the wrong side of the property line. This didn’t sit well with Paul. He got drunk one day, got in his car with my grandfather’s Remington Sweet 16 shotgun and started circling round and round the yard with the gun hanging out the window yelling at the neighbor to stay off his property. They called the law and a couple of Sheriff’s deputy’s came out to see what was going on. They knew him and his condition so just waited until he stopped the car. He got out and no one will ever know if he was going to shoot at them but he did lower the gun toward them. All they could do was shoot first and they did, blowing his leg half off. They later said it was the first person they had shot in over 20 years. He was taken to the VA hospital where he stayed for almost 6 months.

Paul was never charged with the incident but the police did confiscate the shotgun. My brother-in-law did get it back and gave it to me. We never told Paul and that was probably for the best.

Paul eventually walked again, came back home and to the best of my knowledge never drank another drop.

After my grandmother died Paul stayed in the house but became reclusive. He had about 6 stray dogs with him at all times and they had run of the house which progressively fell apart. For about 10 years he never would allow anyone in, always coming outside the door to talk with people. We later found out why.

Several years ago Paul was getting bad off and couldn’t take care of himself so he was finally taken to a nursing home where they took good care of him.

We found the house to be in unlivable condition, floors caved in and the roof had leaked for years. My sister salvaged what could be including my great grandfather’s 150 year old banjo which she so graciously gave to me.

Due to complaints from neighbors to the county about the house it was torn down and buried. There was not much else to do and we never told Paul.

I visited Paul a number of times at the nursing home, taking him cigarettes which he appreciated but it was my sister who always looked in on him. She was his angel in his last years.

There won’t be many at his graveside service. Just a few of us. We don’t even know where any of his sons live. It’s a shame but that’s how it is. There will be a couple of veterans there to give him a last salute.

I always liked Paul. He was never anything but friendly and kind to me. He lived a very up and down life, strange most of the time but what can one say or do except to tell part of his tale.

Thanks for the memories Paul. You will be missed.
