On June 20, 1967, federal Judge Joe Ingraham sentenced former heavyweight champion boxer Cassius Clay (though he had changed his name to Muhammad Ali on March 6, 1964) to five years in prison and a $10,000 fine for refusing to submit to U.S. Selective Service laws; it was the maximum sentence allowed.
Talking of his stance in objection to the Vietnam War, Ali did not pull any punches…..
“I ain’t got no quarrel with those Vietcong” and “no Vietcong ever called me nigger.”
“Why should they ask me to put on a uniform and go 10,000 miles from home and drop bombs and bullets on brown people in Vietnam, while so-called Negro people in Louisville are treated like dogs and denied simple human rights? No, I’m not going 10,000 miles from home to help murder and burn another poor nation simply to continue the domination of white slave masters of the darker people the world over.”
“This is the day when such evils must come to an end. I have been warned that to take such a stand would cost me millions of dollars. But I have said it once, and I will say it again. The real enemy of my people is here. … If I thought the war was going to bring freedom and equality to 22 million of my people, they wouldn’t have to draft me; I’d join tomorrow. I have nothing to lose by standing up for my beliefs. So I’ll go to jail, so what? We’ve been in jail for 400 years.”
“I ain’t draft dodging. I ain’t burning no flag. I ain’t running to Canada. I’m staying right here. You want to send me to jail? Fine, you go right ahead. I’ve been in jail for 400 years. I could be there for 4 or 5 more, but I ain’t going no 10,000 miles to help murder and kill other poor people. If I want to die, I’ll die right here, right now, fightin’ you, if I want to die. You my enemy, not no Chinese, no Vietcong, no Japanese. You my opposer when I want freedom. You my opposer when I want justice. You my opposer when I want equality. Want me to go somewhere and fight for you? You won’t even stand up for me right here in America, for my rights and my religious beliefs. You won’t even stand up for my right here at home. “
Ali was stripped of his boxing title, and his boxing license was suspended. He was not imprisoned, but did not fight again for nearly four years while his appeal worked its way up to the U.S. Supreme Court, where it was eventually successful.
The more things change, the more they remain the same. We have no forced draft today except for the economic one where many feel they have no options. We are still sending soldiers 10,000 miles to murder other poor people. The same few are profiting from the killing. We even go to war for foreign countries who are not our friends. The empire rolls on. Only the manufactured enemies change.
If there is one lesson to be learned from Ali’s life, it is that when we all refuse to blindly follow the lies of war…war just might end. You never know.
“War will exist until that distant day when the conscientious objector enjoys the same reputation and prestige that the warrior does today.“
John F. Kennedy
“AL-CIA-da” with the blessing of NATO is bombing the hell out of Damascus.
|Nice little dance step by the cop in the middle.|
Chicago cops protect and defend the assets of the war machine from those who have different ideas on invading and occupying foreign countries and how many murders are acceptable.
|Looking good …..|
The NATO gathering was a pre-planned photo op to not only try and demonize the protesters as our own home grown ‘terrorists’ but also ultimately to show how ineffective it was. The killings, the false flags, the NATO way is not going to stop anytime soon. The protest numbers are too low. A half a million people converging on any city sends a much bigger message and would gain even more allies. Strength in numbers. Keep the paid provocateurs at bay and it could even be peaceful.
Maybe there is a better way than taking to the streets? If you think you know it, please let us know.
There’s even a soundtrack.
Of all the almost all dead Bee Gee’s songs, this is the only one that stood up to my test of time …
Well, I’ve been a good man. Oh Lord, Lord, I’ve been a good man.
But what’s good’s a good man after the change is made?
The celebration on Wall Street as Germany surrenders in World War I was for much more than the end of the war. Now it was pay back time. Investment = principal plus interest. It was also time to plan for the next round of theft, destruction and murder. The planning and execution of those crimes continue to this very day.
It’s a cliche now but but every good criminal investigator follows the money. Cui Bono? Wall Street, the Federal Reserve, the City of London and all the other affiliates of the international banking syndicate make their real money from chaos in the marketplace and death.
For many of us the Vietnam war was our awakening. We watched as our soldier friends who had little choice came home in boxes, damaged physically and psychologically and maybe even dancing with addictions from which they would never recover. We heard the stories firsthand but many times it was what was not to be said that was most telling.
Our idealism in the Vietnam era screamed it would never happen again. We would end war. We would stop the insanity. We’re still working on it.
We have never forgiven the bankers and their hierarchy of minions for what they have done. It doesn’t seem we ever will. Forgiveness comes only after justice and justice is in short supply.
A little over ten years ago the money handlers jumped the shark. They threw at us the ‘all or nothing’ and ‘in your face’ catalyst for all things destructive to come. They gambled that they could pull it off and by god they did. Questioners were met immediately with misinformation, disinformation and infiltration of the non-official narrative right alongside bits and pieces of clues as to the who, why and how. The 9/11 truth movement was from the beginning a divide and conquer playground for those tasked with the cover ups and continuation of a perverted end game.
After all this time we are still arguing about the hows and it plays right into the hands of the perps. Honest sincere people will agree to disagree no matter how passionate their viewpoints may be. One person’s analysis may not fit another’s perceptions but among the honest there is always common ground and a chance to find allies even in disagreement of details. Goon Squad puts it in perspective:
Ladies and Gentlemen, what Ben Franklin said during America’s Revolutionary War, where for once we breathed free air after ridding the USA of the Rothschilds agents and banks is true today and what he said was something like, “Gentleman, if we don’t hang together, we most assuredly will hang separately.”
Let us agree to disagree about the unknowns during the FALSE FLAG/INSIDE JOB of 9/11, as long as we stay on the path TOGETHER, seeking REAL 9/11 truth or the last sound you’ll hear on this Earth will be the trap door swinging open, as we get picked off or picked up, one by one.
Our basic common ground is that we don’t forget ….. and we don’t forgive.
Isn’t war a form of cannibalism?
We eat our own.
And pretend we had to do it to survive.
Our political system is beyond repair using only the electoral process. A sign at the White House says “Only Authorized Serial Warmongers May Enter.”
Anonymous Says They’ve Killed the CIA’s Website (cue laugh track)
Everywhere I turn folks are saying things you would not expect from them … like … “Is it just me or does it seem the world has this strange feel about it and that something is about to happen?” There’s a lot of concern about what the rest of this year is to bring.
Just when you think you’ve heard it all, it gets worse.
I turned on the radio late last night to hear a little soothing music but … oops wrong station.
This creepy little non-human by the name of Bill Cunningham was taking hate speech to a whole new level. He almost makes Savage and Limbaugh look like choirboys. In a quick summary here’s what he was saying:
Dresden was good. Hiroshima was double good. If you’re going to fight a war, kill the civilians, burn ’em, they deserve it.
Expanding to Iran he says:
I’d warn the Iranians a few days in advance to get the heck out of Dodge. I would obliterate (a favorite word used at least a dozen times) the 20 largest cities. Women, children, they all need to die. 20 million killed would be a good start. Then we would go in and take all of their resources and bring them back to the US.
Billy boy must have thought we didn’t hear him the first time so he repeats the same thing over and over, all the while on the phone line is some racist self described jew cheering him on and breaking in twice to declare Billy’s sick words as “the greatest rant in the whole history of the world.” Seriously. You just can’t make this sort of thing up.
Billy is brain damaged and senile but I do think I heard him drooling and counting his money in the background. Being bought off is a good gig for the mentally and morally challenged.
In Pax Judaica, formerly the USA, this is what passes for free speech. Broadcasting on over 300 stations and advocating mass murder in a foreign land is AOK. Just don’t talk about overthrowing our criminal syndicate federal government and their media whores. That will get you thrown into a new American gulag.
Calling out the MSM warmongers is not enough. There are those in the alternative media that deserve a second look. Via xymphora we find Maidhc Ó Cathail taking on the change of tone at Antiwar.com and there’s a comment mention of the same thing at Global Research. Re-directing attention from Israel? As the old Lenin saying goes … “The best way to control the opposition is to lead it ourselves.”
Over at Twelfth Bough there is described a development in Chinese and Israeli relations that hints at World Judaica.
“Only recently a large team of Chinese state television employees visited Israel for a period of three weeks, to research the ‘Israeli miracle.’ Now they are visiting several places in the world that used to have large Jewish communities, in order to examine the Jewish community’s influence on its surroundings. Their idea is to try to decipher the secret of the Jews’ success.”
The Chinese are so adept at copying, stealing and re-engineering that this hook up with the Israelis should be a breeze but of course it would be the jews who expect to profit the most from this ‘learning’ experience.
On Martin Luther King day it’s worth a reminder that he was not killed because of his civil rights endeavors. That was acceptable to the powers that be. The opportunity to divide a population to gain more control is always acceptable to the ruling psychopaths. No, it was when he started speaking out against the war that the decision was made to eliminate that kind of talk. War is a profit center and advocating doing away with the cash cow was not to be tolerated.
From his speech Beyond Vietnam — A Time to Break Silence
Over the past two years, as I have moved to break the betrayal of my own silences and to speak from the burnings of my own heart, as I have called for radical departures from the destruction of Vietnam, many persons have questioned me about the wisdom of my path. At the heart of their concerns this query has often loomed large and loud: “Why are you speaking about the war, Dr. King?” “Why are you joining the voices of dissent?” “Peace and civil rights don’t mix,” they say. “Aren’t you hurting the cause of your people,” they ask? And when I hear them, though I often understand the source of their concern, I am nevertheless greatly saddened, for such questions mean that the inquirers have not really known me, my commitment or my calling. Indeed, their questions suggest that they do not know the world in which they live.
As I have walked among the desperate, rejected, and angry young men, I have told them that Molotov cocktails and rifles would not solve their problems. I have tried to offer them my deepest compassion while maintaining my conviction that social change comes most meaningfully through nonviolent action. But they ask — and rightly so — what about Vietnam? They ask if our own nation wasn’t using massive doses of violence to solve its problems, to bring about the changes it wanted. Their questions hit home, and I knew that I could never again raise my voice against the violence of the oppressed in the ghettos without having first spoken clearly to the greatest purveyor of violence in the world today — my own government.
Vet’s vent over the ‘event’ of urinating on the dead.
The “irony” is that is is fine for the U.S. to kill civilians, have all kinds of “collateral damage,” and friendly fire events. It is OK to drop “daisy cutter” bombs and kill with unmanned drones. It is OK to hold people for years in close confinement and without charge or trial; engage in “rendition,” or even torture prisoners ourselves. But somehow, urinating on the dead is just a step too far.
Until we address the reality of what we are creating we will continue to allow it to be created. Generation after generation of troops will have to keep the stuff of nightmares bottled up inside, or it will come out in another attack and another prison sentence.
Will soldiers be sufficiently indoctrinated to internalize the children and women of Iran as the ‘enemy?’ I challenge all drone jockeys, bomber pilots and trigger pullers to ask themselves “Is this who I want to kill?”
“When you realize just about everything you have been told all your life is a lie, you are on the right track.”
The so called ‘greatest generation’ was a great hijacking. Bodies for bankers. Planned destruction with the leaders in place to make sure it goes down. The rich get richer, the poor get dead. Repeated on and on.
Pearl Harbor was ‘let it happen on purpose.’ 9/11, the new Pearl Harbor was ‘make it happen on purpose.’ The next Pearl Harbor to lead us into more wars will also be a set-up, a death trap where ‘the end always justifies the means’ as the psychopaths say.
Butcher is a term used when it happens to Americans. When we dish it out … Dresden, Hiroshima, Eisenhower’s death camps, My Lai, Fallujah, etc. etc. etc., it is called a necessity of war or some sort of “Newspeak;”
We rounded up the Japanese Americans in the name of security. We detained a number of Israelis after 9/11 then we let them go away. Muslims in Gitmo did not fare as well. American citizens could be next with a few detainees to keep the rest in line. Many will stand by and watch hoping they will be spared and keep silent in despair for what else may be to come.
History finds a few that speak up and try to stop the madness. After Pearl Harbor Jeannette Rankin was the only congressperson to do so. Before that, on September 11, 1941 (the same day as the ground-breaking ceremony for the Pentagon), Charles Lindbergh warned us in a speech to the America First Committee. Pearl Harbor trumped the anti-war talk. The term ‘America First’ is now mostly verboten in the globalist banker world but we’ll keep using it as long as we can still draw a breath and not just for our own benefit but for the whole of humanity.
So what about the next Pearl Harbor? Can we stop it just by continuing to give the warnings that false flags are are the standard operating procedure of the ruling ‘elite?’ Or by repeating the truth of history that always repeats itself if we are not vigilant? Maybe not, but the killers and manipulators have to be a little worried that every day there are a few more catching onto their lies. The question is whether we will have what it takes to stop them. It will come first from our hearts and go from there.
