A compilation of just a few of those who do not toe the official line of “so that we could be free.”
We should re-write the ‘pledge.’
I pledge allegiance to the bankers
and to the republic of which they own…..
But does any citizen really understand why the 2.8 million fellow Americans were killed or wounded fighting in wars waged by the U.S. Government? Most people believe that all the wars the U.S. has fought have been to make the “world (including the U.S. homeland) safe for Democracy? But when you delve deeper beyond the patriotic propaganda of why the wars were truly waged in the past and continue to be waged in the present you begin to find a disturbing pattern of why the United States Government goes to war. We should all remember on this Memorial Day that the wars that the United States of America has waged, have been waged not to protect our freedom but to enrich a very few at the expense of the very many.
The 1% mock Americas war dead on every Memorial Day because they continuously damn more US soldiers to kill and die in unlawful wars.
This is an insult to our military past and present, and their families. Because an unlawful war is a literal attack upon US soldiers, it is also treason by the 1% upon American military.
How much longer will US military and law enforcement tolerate 1% policies of war that kill millions, harm billions, and loot trillions?
Importantly, the 99% of the American public also dishonor our military with any thoughts, words, or deeds under illegal US Wars of Aggression other than to demand arrests of obvious US War Criminals and immediate end of the wars.
Let’s make one thing crystal clear, no member of the US military contributes in any way whatsoever to protecting the freedoms of the American people. As a matter of fact, they are more likely to turn their weapons on you than they are to defend your Constitutional rights.
“On this Memorial Day, Veterans For Peace asks you to mourn not only for Americans killed in battle, but also for those killed by Americans in battle. We ask you to be willing to accept the fact that these war deaths did not have to happen–that they are actually in vain. Hundreds of thousands of innocent people have died in American wars of aggression. That is a tragedy and is a truth that must be accepted and for which we must take responsibility.”
Here are some numbers to remember this Memorial Day: Although only 1 percent of Americans have served during the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, former service members represent 20 percent of suicides in the United States — 18 veterans kill themselves everyday. Close to a million veterans currently have pending disability claims.
“Military personnel know America will always have a military, but there is growing concern over the way it is being used,” “the use of torture, illegal detentions, and both soldiers and the public being lied to about the actual reasons for going into combat.”
If Amy Goodman would take on 9/11 as the false flag it was and quit being the left gatekeeper she is we might take her more seriously. Won’t happen.
After 9/11, fear and loss-of-liberty threats became a perfect petri dish for the corporatocracy and a miasma of secrecy, surveillance, intimidation, punitive measures, and endless war.
If “they” attacked us only because they hated our freedoms, there’s nothing to hate anymore.
Could it be that we have lost the true cost of war as we morn its dead ~ could it be that flowers and flags can never justify the inhumanity of war ~ could it be that all wars are lost because there are no true winners and lastly why are we continuing to justify our current illegal occupations by falsely calling them wars. In wartime, everything is done to subvert the force of love but in the end ~ only love prevails: Allen L Roland
Israel does not give medals of honor or commemorate Memorial Day to the Americans killed in the wars for them. Their mentality is that we owe it to them and they expect more and more. No matter that they have murdered our own military personnel of the U.S.S. Liberty and were deeply involved in killing our civilians on 9/11 to further their madness.
Can we all shout in unison “No More Wars for Israel?”
It’s not like we haven’t been warned over and over again.
U.S. warmaking in the Middle East appears to have only one lasting beneficiary, the State of Israel. Israel’s military and political power has been magnified by the destruction of its neighbors and the enormous military aid it has received from the American taxpayer.
Posse Comitatus? Forget that outdated notion. The ‘war on terror’ may require our military to ‘protect our freedoms’ right here at home against our own. A Memorial Day under martial law coming soon? I still have faith that our military will not turn their guns on us.
This is what our military does. We should think about this as we grill our Memorial Day burgers.
An alternative view of Memorial Day
In council rooms apart,
Who call for greater armament
And map the battle chart.
Where golden dreams turn gray,
How very young the faces were
Where all the dead men lay.
The elders cast their vote
For this or that, or something else,
That sounds the martial note.
Beyond life’s vanished toys,
I’ve noticed nearly all the dead
Were hardly more than boys.”
Mark Twain’s War Prayer
In one form or another this prayer is still being offered up, especially by the ‘Christian Zionists.’
“O Lord our Father, our young patriots, idols of our hearts, go forth to battle – be Thou near them! With them, in spirit, we also go forth from the sweet peace of our beloved firesides to smite the foe. O Lord our God, help us to tear their soldiers to bloody shreds with our shells; help us to cover their smiling fields with the pale forms of their patriot dead; help us to drown the thunder of the guns with the shrieks of their wounded, writhing in pain; help us to lay waste their humble homes with a hurricane of fire; help us to wring the hearts of their unoffending widows with unavailing grief; help us to turn them out roofless with their little children to wander unfriended the wastes of their desolated land in rags and hunger and thirst, sports of the sun flames of summer and the icy winds of winter, broken in spirit, worn with travail, imploring Thee for the refuge of the grave and denied it – for our sakes who adore Thee, Lord, blast their hopes, blight their lives, protract their bitter pilgrimage, make heavy their steps, water their way with their tears, stain the white snow with the blood of their wounded feet! We ask it, in the spirit of love, of Him Who is the Source of Love, and Who is ever-faithful refuge and friend of all that are sore beset and seek His aid with humble and contrite hearts. Amen.
“When fascism comes to America, it will be wrapped in the American flag.”

Cost of War in Iraq & Afghanistan
If you’re like me you’ll remember it like anybody remembers any war; one big drag. Lot of people write songs about wars and government…very social things. But I think about young guys who were like I was when I was young. I had no more idea about any government, or political things or anything. And I think about those kind of young guys now who all of a sudden somebody comes up, and they’re very law-abiding, so if somebody says go they don’t ask any questions they just go. And I can remember not too long ago seeing a young guy with his right arm gone. Just got back. And I asked him how he was doing. He said he was doing alright now but he had thought he was gonna die. He said getting shot at didn’t bother him, it was getting shot that shook him up. And I tried to put myself in his position. Maybe he cried, maybe he said…I can’t write left -handed.”
The Southern Poverty Law Center should actually place itself on their list of dangerous extremists but that might cut down on the donations. The hate-mongering group has its new list of 30 New Activists Heading Up the Radical Right.
Check out the list. I always get the feeling that when someone rises to the top of the SPLC’s focus that they are part of the controlled opposition designated to keep us divided. Maybe not all but enough to wonder whether they might even be secretly funded by the SPLC or their friends.
Forbes’ list of the world’s billionaires, most powerful people, richest in America, most powerful women and the world’s biggest public companies give us a good look at what 99.99% of the world is up against. The name Rothschild is frequently thrown around as being at the top of the money food chain but unless I missed it, Forbes does not have that name listed at all.
The list of those in contention to become Egypt’s president has gotten shorter. A broken, divided and weak country needs a western controlled leader to stay that way. Unfortunately, democracy in the Middle East too often comes down to ‘what is good for the zionists.’
The list of those to become Romney’s running mate is coming together. Mitt’s chosen one will be vetted by AIPAC of course.
Google has a hit list. Copyright offenders. There are many who would like to see the concept of ‘fair use’ go down the drain. It’s already happening and will be a bigger target sooner or later.
The ‘assassination list’ of the White House seems to be in the hands of one small group led by John ‘targeted killing’ Brennan. Assassinations outside the war zones are to be debated in secret. Those killings will be right here at home eventually. Nothing really new, there is a long history of assassinations on our soil. We’re just not using drones at the moment.
Somewhere there is a list of Americans killed in the wars of the last decade. Over twice as many US soldiers have been killed in Afghanistan under the peace prez than under George W. Bush but Bush wins hands down for those who died in vain in Iraq. Nowhere is there a list of all the civilians murdered under both presidents.
We have lists of the suspects for 9/11. List of dead witnesses. What we don’t have is a list of actual perps indicted. Neither do we have a list of war crimes indictments for Americans, Israelis and NATO leaders. Often we have our doubts if we ever will.
I’ve tried to temper my words lately. Being aggressive in disdain for those who blindly promote service to bankers and the war machine rarely works. It puts those complicit in delivering their sons and daughters into the bowels of the corrupt system of empire on the defensive. They have been programmed and it’s hard to undo.
Recently an older family member said of someone who is about to graduate from high school; “Isn’t he going to join the military? Wouldn’t that be the best thing for him?”
This person has been diagnosed as being in the early stages of Alzheimer’s so there was no need in arguing. Sometimes it seems that our entire country is in the last stages of the disease for which there is no cure. Perhaps that’s close to being true but there still are enough healthy people to make a difference, at least that’s the hope we still cling to.
Another extended family member, who is in college, thinks he wants to be in the FBI. There were too many people not interested in politics and propaganda around when this talk was going on this Easter Sunday so I held my tongue. One day I will try to plant the seed of doubt by asking him what he would do when confronted with orders that are not ethical or moral or constitutional as so often is the case. He’s a smart kid but I don’t think he has been exposed to the whole of possibilities that exist in that line of work. It’s the same with soldiers and their families. Not being aware is a poor excuse but being caught up in the deceptions is understandable and we have to deal with it.
Just because you don’t want to hear something, doesn’t mean it isn’t true and also doesn’t mean you won’t hear it at some point, or be affected by it to your detriment or benefit. Great and seemingly invincible armies have been defeated. Massive armadas have sunk and drowned at the bottom of the sea. Vast empires are now nothing but ruins. These things are true.
Today is the 42th anniversary of the Kent State massacre.
Questions still remain but the same mechanisms of shoot first, think and ask questions later still remain. For some of us it was our first exposure to the reality that pawns working for those in power would kill their own and attempt to justify it in the name of security. It’s fairly commonplace now. Only the actors and victims have changed.
The protesters, the hippies, thought they could change the world and in small ways they did. We thought we could put an end to the insanity of war. Little did we know.
By 1974 the idealism of youth had taken a wrong turn . Hard drugs, downers, bad acid and creeping apathy infiltrated the movement and causalities at the fringe took their toll. By the end of the Vietnam War the hippies were starting to become yuppies and the consumer culture once again became dominant. The police state never rested and solidified and advanced the agenda exponentially with 9/11. The factors of where we are today are many. Just as there was no justice for the victims of Kent State, one ingredient of all collapsing empires is an absence of justice. Do we still have time to bring justice back to the forefront? We have to try.
From 1972, memories from the falling and failures of the counter culture … It was fun while it lasted.
You can’t say "I love Castro." What’s next, "Maybe that 6 million number has been exaggerated a bit?" or "What was up with Building 7?"
So Ozzie says a few things in a stream of consciousnesses interview with Time which include:
“I love Fidel Castro.” “I respect Fidel Castro.” “You know why? A lot of people have wanted to kill Fidel Castro for the last 60 years, but that mother—— is still here.”
The Cuban-American population in South Florida didn’t like that kind of talk and called for Ozzie’s head on platter.
Marlins jewish ‘art dealer’ owner Jeffrey Loria and his sidekick Sampson took mercy on ‘lost in translation’ Ozzie and only gave him a 5 day without pay suspension.
It appears that Loria is not the most transparent businessman, some even call him names like ‘treacherous, no good, low down, lying dog’ who loves to take taxpayer subsidies to fatten his profits through the usual tribal techniques of deception and bribery. But he did let his goy employee keep his job, probably after a lot of consternation about what was best for his bottom line and the overall public perception of his decision.
Ozzie learned his lesson. Free speech is not free in certain circumstances.
It’s also a reinforcing lesson to all, especially to the kids who look up to these ‘celebrities,’ to watch what you say. Can’t have loose lips in the public arena. As Barney Fife always says “Nip It In The Bud.” Free speech just ain’t what it used to be and that’s part of the big plan. These kind of ‘Ozzie’ incidents fit in with the plan very well and the media is more than glad to make it an ‘issue.’
Oh well, freedom of speech was a wonderous story while it lasted …..
“Delusion arises from anger. The mind is bewildered by delusion. Reasoning is destroyed when the mind is bewildered. One falls down when reasoning is destroyed.”
If anyone is interested in hearing some of the shameful dialog at AIPAC, here are a few videos:

There’s actually no need. We have heard it all before and self-torture is not healthy.
If true and that’s a big if, this is an interesting symbolic development.
US President Barack Obama reportedly on Monday gave Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu a copy of the Book of Esther in honor of the Jewish holiday of Purim, which is celebrated on Thursday and Friday this week.
The Book of Esther is of course a jewish false narrative. Purim is the celebration of a myth. A dangerous one.
Who needs diplomacy, or international law? On cue, John McCain calls for military strikes on Syria to get some brownie points from his old buddy Benny. Israel needs Syria to be neutered before it’s on to Iran.
For the moment this ‘bluster’ keeps the gas prices going higher and fills the coffers of the mega-oil companies, big banks and speculators who are poised to cash in while the economy tanks. This sounds about right even if from a questionable source … “For every 10-cent increase in the price of a gallon of gasoline, it costs the economy about $11 billion.” This is a major strategy in the economic war against the people and possibly this slow bleed is all they are after, at least for the near future.
The machinery of Islamophobia continues to crawl out from the larger cities of middle Tennessee and into the smaller ones. The local senior citizens center was rented out to an group consisting of a ‘pastor,’ two on the zionist payroll attorneys and our local state representative for a show and tell of how we are not safe from the spell of the ‘evil’ Muslims even out here in the hills. This is in a county, that as far as I know, no Muslims even live in and the majority of people here have probably never known one. But it’s an election year and voters for war need to be properly ‘educated’ and learn to love the psyops they live in.
Thanks to andie and w, we learn that google is rolling out its selective censorship program. Not being evil now means that upon request by intelligence services and law enforcement in a particular country, a blogspot may be blocked from that specific country while being left open to others.
Where this will lead is anyone’s guess but it seems to be just another day at the office towards repressing the semi-free internet as we know it.
As blogger’s new comment word verification system with its often illegible secret words makes it difficult to post replies, I disabled the WV and what do I get? Foreign based spam bots are having a field day trying to infiltrate the comment section with their sales pitches for Viagra and knock-off watches. Over 50 of them the last three days and most not even in English. Many will suggest moving away from google but aren’t all the ‘free’ but not really free blogging platforms going in the same direction; data mining, advertising and spooks keeping an eye on you? They don’t call it Zio-blogger for nothing.
Apparently google, facebook and other major sites outsource much of their content moderation to low wage third world countries and are providing psychological counseling to workers traumatized by what they are seeing being uploaded. Internet and media users traumatized by the preponderance of political, social and economic lies are left to their own devices to try and cope.
When Gannett, the nation’s largest newspaper publisher, mandated a Facebook account to post comments on all of their 80 community sites, we didn’t think it could get much worse. Comments went down by over 90% and almost all of the most entertaining and enlightening commentors dropped out.
Now Gannett has announced that by the end of the year all but their national daily USA Today will go to a ‘pay per view’ model restricting some access to non-subscribers. Do they really think very many will actually pay for their already limited highly propagandized ‘news?’ I’ll admit to looking at a couple of their local sites daily, occasionally there’s something of interest but it’s rare.Corrupt capitalism is bringing itself down.
An international conspiracy to stop the information we need? No doubt it’s heading that way. There still may be some time to stop it don’t you think?
Self-censorship is one of the goals.
Don’t even think about researching and writing (or speaking) about a topic that some group or prominent individual declares insensitive and offensive. It will only get you in trouble.
That is a trap. A mind trap where we question ourselves and the results are paralysis. We all know who benefits the most from this self-censorship. Let’s not speak their names. Let’s not talk about of what tribe they may be. Let’s not wonder about the crimes past and in progress. Let’s be silent … and complicit ……
or maybe not.
I ran across this photo in a local magazine of the Children’s Holocaust Memorial and Paper Clip Project in Whitwell , Tennessee.
It is located, perhaps appropriately, on Pie in the Sky Trail.
The Paper Clip Project began as a school kid campaign to collect 6 million magic paper clips. Over 30 million were collected of which 11 million are housed in an authentic German train car.
Ironically, Operation Paperclip was a U.S. organized monumental transfer of black technology by actively recruiting Nazi scientists and criminals for employment by U.S. intelligence. The U.S. pointedly chose fervent Nazi scientists with experience in chemical, biological and radioactive warfare to become the architects of the CIA’s darkest military experiments. This tale is conveniently left out of the school books that always include the quasi-religious narrative of the 6 million.
While on the subject of World War II, it seems there is a bit of a dust-up concerning the proposed Dwight D. Eisenhower Memorial in D.C. that has planned a statue of a young boy Eisenhower who is barefoot. The symbolism is not readily apparent to me. We will have to ask the foreign architect about that. Don’t we have anyone here in this country these days who can design a ‘memorial’ without have to outsource it?
Eisenhower had one brief moment of clarity in his life. It was his presidential exit speech warning of the military-industrial complex. As Supreme Allied Commander on the European front, Eisenhower was complicit with the mass-murder firebombing of Dresden and other civilian ‘holocausts.’ The infamous Eisenhower death camps were where over a million common German ex-soldiers were detained after Germany’s surrender and a large unknown number of them died from starvation and disease, on purpose. The barefoot boy became a war criminal.
Can you imagine that one day memorials may be built to the Bush father-son criminal tag team? By that time Jeb may be included. A memorial to Obama? For being ??? I’m waiting on the memorial to the hundreds of millions of Americans who have suffered at the hands of the central bankers and friends over the last hundred years.
Today is the so called Presidents Day which is really Washington’s birthday with the actual date moved around so federal employees and schools can have a three day holiday. Nothing is ever as it seems is it? Thank God there is no Vice-Presidents day. The only day Dick Cheney needs is his day in court for high crimes.
There is this little debate going on about criminalizing lies. The Supreme Court will hear arguments in the case of a liar who was convicted under the Stolen Valor Act, which prohibits falsely claiming to have been awarded a military medal. It was dumb for the liar to do it but it was one of those ‘no harm, no foul’ things. Do we want to spend taxpayer dollars to lock the guy up besides the cost of the lawyers involved? Lying in combination with fraud is another matter altogether.
In February 2003, a Florida Court of Appeals unanimously agreed with an assertion by FOX News that there is no rule against distorting or falsifying the news in the United States. FOX asserted that there are no written rules against distorting news in the media. They argued that, under the First Amendment, broadcasters have the right to lie or deliberately distort news reports on public airwaves.
I’m sure the Supreme Court was glad that case never came before them. A ruling against FOX could have gotten virtually every newscaster in the MSM put in jail unless they cleaned up their act, especially when it comes to the lies of war and a thousand other issues that actually do harm to the American public.
Put some twisted liar in jail for a ‘medal of honor’ tale but remember the 935 lies the Bush Administration told to push for the Iraq War? How about Colin Powell before the United Nations lying about the same thing? Over 4400 U.S. soldiers dead in Iraq and maybe over a million Iraqis who died under the guise of bringing ‘democracy.’ That’s murder on a grand scale. Those liars got a pass.
And it’s deja vu all over again. The ‘news’ tonight has started priming us for $5 a gallon gas coming soon and what story do they follow it up with? Iran of course. The stuff that memorials are made of.
This marquee should placed over the doors of all government buildings and be a required quote for all school kids to learn and write essays on. You never know, some of them may actually get the meaning.
